The most important undertaken and underway safety and environmental activities of Amirkabir Khazar Steel Company is as follows:
- Establishment of ISO 14001: 2015 system in environment management and ISO 45001: 2018 in occupational health and safety (OHS) management
- Construction and exploitation of human wastewater treatment system and monitoring the relevant parameters measurement and online connection to the system of the Environment Organization.
- Performing the ordinary and industrial waste management plan and separating the company’s waste in this regard.
- Establishment of a closed industrial system for wastewater treatment and 100% return to the industry cycle
- Preliminary steps regarding the installation and setup of the online environmental monitoring system of the chimney outlet.
- Periodic monitoring of chimney emissions by trusted companies of the Environment Organization to measure the amount of pollutants from the process
- Allocating about 150,000 m2 of the company’s area to green space and also being among the companies with green industry indexes that the most important criteria for selecting such industries and service units include the followings:
- Compliance with environmental standards by installing and modifying a treatment system and controlling water, air, soil and noise pollution and etc.
- Application of new and clean technologies in reducing and eliminating pollutants from industrial, mining and service units
- Implementation of green management system in accordance with paragraph “g” of Article 38 from the Sixth Development Plan Law
- Creating and developing green space suitable for the environment
- Holding training courses to enhance the environmental knowledge of staff and spread environmental culture
- Management of energy consumption (water, electricity and fuel) and replacement of clean and renewable energy
- Utilization of new energies in the process of industrial, mining and service units as well as implementation of optimization plans for energy consumption in the units
- Modification of consumption pattern and optimal management of water consumption in industries and equipment and the use of new technologies and recirculation of water in the production process
- Waste management in order to implement reduction, reuse and recycling and create a life cycle attitude
- Producing green products by providing goods and services and production of environmental technologies or clean production (environmentally friendly products).
